Riven’s is a story of mystery, exploration, discovery, and intrigue, presented in the classic point-and-click adventure style from one of the most iconic eras of gaming history. Dive into the titular island and explore the fate of Atrus' wife, Catherine. Solve various puzzles to learn more about the culture of the Indigenous Rivenese people and explore the deep machinations of Gehn’s mind as you pick up the pieces of his time in the Age of Riven.
Riven Gameplay
Riven’s gameplay harkens back to the HUD-less, point-and-click adventure style made famous during the mid-to-late-90s era of gaming with other games like Myst, Grim Fandango, and The Longest Journey. Players are dropped off in the mysterious "Age of Riven" and must use their wits and exploratory skills to find their wife Catherine while navigating the intricacies of a completely alien culture.
As they progress through the island, new tools and areas are unlocked, allowing the player even more agency in their puzzle-solving, all the while discovering stunning landscapes, intricate contraptions, and some of the grandest displays of architecture humanity has ever seen.
