One-Armed Robber First Impressions

Image

Footage from the game shows first-person POV gameplay of robbing places like banks and museums with just one arm. Its Low Poly art style and absurd premise seems like a fun and light take on the criminal heists subgenre. Filling duffle bags with stacks of cash looks really fun, and so does pushing a platform cart containing the historical artwork you just stole to safety. There’s also a progression system, with you being able to unlock new tools and weapons to make your heists go a little bit smoother.

While the stealing aspect of the game looks fun, it’s the combat I’m a bit worried about. For one, it looks very easy, with the gameplay footage from the trailer showing a player mowing down big groups of cops alone with no cover. Moreover, guns look very easy to control in this game too, with opponents easily dying after a few shots.

Everything We Know About One-Armed Robber

One-Armed Robber Plot

Image

The game is extremely light on story. The main point is that, like the title suggests, you’re a one-armed robber who partakes in robbing establishments. It’s not like you don’t have another arm by the way. You have two but only use one, with your left arm just hanging there, even when firing large assault rifles that typically require two hands.

One-Armed Robber Gameplay

Image

One-Armed Robber’s gameplay is simple. Walk in, steal the loot, get out. You could choose to do it sneakily, being mindful of the sounds you make, or come in hot with guns blazing. You’ll be picking locks, blowing up safes, hacking into the network, and more. There’s combat too, and lots of it. It’s like one of those GTA heists where you plan it out, go in, neutralize security, get the goods, and then deal with the reinforcements should they arrive.

One-Armed Robber Trailer

The trailer shows a minute and a half of heists, combat, freedom on how players carry out their heists, and the different tools and weapons you could use.
