Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (MGS Delta) is a fully upgraded version of the critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in all aspects, specifically visuals, gameplay, audio design, and more. As seen in its new trailers, the game has been remade in Unreal Engine 5 while keeping the cutscenes shot for shot.

MGS Delta will feature numerous locales, including jungles, swamps, urban bases, and more. The game will keep the same stealth survival action aspect to a tee. As Naked Snake, food and equipment are meant to be procured on site as you are tasked with infiltrating behind enemy lines unseen. You will be able to outfit yourself with different weapons, camouflage, and equipment that’s meant to make your mission easier.

The game will also feature a brand new third-person view and animations akin to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, while offering the classic overhead view for those already familiar with the game.

Visual Filters

It was also revealed that the game will feature four different visual styles for the different preferences of fans. Many have been clamoring for the old green muted style the original game had, and so KONAMI has implemented the Legacy filter to make it look similar to the original title. It will also have other styles such as sepia and retro, totalling to four distinct visual styles along with the normal modern one.

Big Boss' Wounds

The developers have implemented a real-time visual wound system for Big Boss, where he will accumulate all his battle wounds accurately in real time. They can be healed by consumables and whatnot, or will naturally heal over time, leading to scars and markings.

Relive history as the Cold War rages on and the geo-political landscape changes. Rival nations develop weapons of mass destruction in secret that threaten the future of mankind. A single elite soldier must infiltrate enemy lines and stop the opposition’s weapon from triggering a full-scale war.

As confirmed by KONAMI, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will keep the same story told in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in its entirety.
