Fate/EXTRA Record Story Plot
As Fate/EXTRA Record is a remaster of the original PlayStation Portable title, Fate/EXTRA, its plot should remain largely unchanged. It will follow Hakuno Kishinami and her participation in the Moon Cell Holy Grail War together with her Servant. There, the protagonist will meet familiar faces from the Fate franchise, such as Rin Tohsaka, Cu Chulainn, Taiga Fujimura, etc., who will act to either support them or stand in their way of ultimate victory.
However, the protagonist possesses unique circumstances in their qualification for the Holy Grail War. She, unlike the other Masters, has no recollection of their past. Hence, her fight isn’t simply to achieve the wish-granting relic but also to find herself.
Fate/EXTRA Record Gameplay
Fate/EXTRA Record will have the same dungeon-exploration gameplay as its predecessor. It will also retain its strict time-based deadlines, requiring players to carefully plan their daily actions before the inevitable fight at the end of the duration. This will include gathering information on their enemies and loot from dungeons.
On the other hand, combat will no longer use the rock-paper-scissors-type gameplay that the PSP title had. Instead, a Servant’s usable actions are now lined up in a rotating queue of commands that cost a certain amount of AP. Each action will also flow seamlessly with each other, allowing players to form a sort of combo.
Unlike in the previous game, each side will have its own turns instead of taking them simultaneously.

The 2022 trailer showcases the returning characters from the original game. They include Rin Tohsaka, Fujimura Taiga, Leonardo Harwey, and Rani VIII. Familiar Servants, such as Robin Hood, Francis Drake, and Cu Chulainn, are also featured in the trailer.
It also puts Hakuno’s main Servant, Nero Claudius, on the spotlight by the end.
Fate/EXTRA Record Trailer Another Version
This trailer mostly features the protagonist’s school life with Shinji Mato, her encounter with Rin Tohsaka, and Rani VIII. It also showcases one of her selectable servants, Archer, front and center instead of Nero Claudius (Saber).
Fate/EXTRA Record Development Video
This trailer was posted as an update for the development progress of the game, as well as to feature Hakuno’s third selectable Servant, Tamamo no Mae.
