Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Gameplay

Death Stranding 2 iterates over its predecessor's action-adventure and walking simulator gameplay. Players will control Sam Porter Bridges as he acts as a courier delivering supplies in a post-apocalyptic world while connecting distant cities.
Cargo Management and Traversal

As Sam, players must balance the packages on their person and carefully deliver them across various locations with dangerous terrain and tricky heights. Using various roads, vehicles, and ziplines can help players traverse the landscape faster and safer.
Enemies and Combat

Outside the safety of the cities and pathways, Sam must navigate his way around dangerous monsters known as Beached Things (BTs) and raiders that roam the wastelands.
Players can choose to be stealthy and avoid them entirely with the use of detection gadgets, or fight them with both lethal and non-lethal weapons, which Sam can use to merely subdue hostiles should they be too important to eliminate.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Story

Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam, with companions by his side, sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. In a world beset by otherworldly enemies and obstacles, they are haunted by one question: should we have connected?
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach features an ensemble cast including the returning Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker to reprise their roles as Sam, Fragile, and Higgs, respectively. Joining them in the second installment of the franchise are actresses Elle Fanning as Tomorrow and Shioli Kutsuna as Rainy.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Setting

Set eleven months after the events of Death Stranding, its sequel sends players beyond the borders of the UCA and into the distant sunburnt continent of Australia. Director, writer, producer, and designer Hideo Kojima confirmed that it was chosen due to the terrain variety. Eurasia and Africa were considered, but they were deemed too big or too long, respectively.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Plot

Fragile has recruited Sam to "Drawbridge," a new civilian outfit she established that serves regions outside of the UCA (United Cities of America). They are funded by a mysterious figure behind the scenes who has access to the means to generously fund the group with "capital and tech."
As humanity still resides within the brink of collapse and extinction, Drawbridge’s motto, "Both stick and rope, to protect and connect. Together, for tomorrow" serves to instill hope and inspiration for a connected future of mankind.

Sam must reassume his responsibilities of reconnecting humankind due to the revelation that the Death Stranding is not over, and humanity continues to be on the brink of extinction.
The UCA has been connected throughout America thanks to his previous efforts, and now he must do so again for the rest of the world. However, the UCA refuses to expand its borders, but rather wants to bring new regions into its network, providing an interconnected global reach with them at the cornerstone.

Drawbridge’s mission is to connect regions outside of the UCA with Fragile as the acting commander, whereas Sam will be on the ground doing the legwork. Fragile’s statement of "It’s the same deal as America. The people here are all spread out.
Cut off from one another" implies that Sam will be tasked with bringing the world together across different countries and regions, but no other country has yet been confirmed besides his first mission in Mexico.
