No Man’s Sky was initially released on August 9, 2016, for the PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4. The game was later released for the Xbox One in July 2018, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S when they were released in November 2020, the Nintendo Switch in October 2022, and, most recently, the macOS in June 2023.
While its launch was marred by significant issues and unmet expectations, Hello Games has steadily improved No Man's Sky through numerous updates.
These updates have expanded its exploration mechanics, completed previously unfinished features, introduced full multiplayer functionality, and provided greater customization options.
