It’s the end of World War 1. Czechoslovakian Legionnaires in Siberia have finished their missions and want to go back home to their families. The only problem is that they can’t go west, as the Central Powers control the areas they need to pass where they risk getting captured or killed. Going around the world eastward is their only real option. To do that, they have to get past the civil war zones of Russia, the Pacific Ocean, the United States, and then the Atlantic Ocean. The game focuses on that 9000-kilometer-long journey to Vladivostok, the easternmost part of Russia, that these legionnaires need to undertake to get to the Pacific Ocean.
Last Train Home Gameplay
The game features a blend of base management and tactical RTS (Real-Time Strategy) gameplay. What sets this game apart from other RTS and management games is it being narratively-driven, as other games like this don’t have nearly as much focus channeled into its story. As the player, you will command the legion through a grueling journey across Siberia’s unforgiving, war-torn landscapes aboard the last armored train home.
You’ll be in charge of who does what and who goes where. As the game progresses, your units will grow more skilled in their tasks. For example, a soldier deployed in combat or recon tasks will become more dangerous and effective during missions, while an experienced doctor will be able to heal your troops more efficiently.
Moreover, you can find gear and resources for your people during your expeditions outside the train and into the snowy Siberian land. You’ll be in charge of all the big decisions that affect the grand scheme of things. For example, will you use your low fuel levels to provide warmth for your wounded, or would you save it in case something goes wrong and you can’t refuel anywhere near you?
You will also command your troops in real-time strategic battles, which you’ll find yourself often in, given the hostile environment. Both your units and the armored train itself are upgradeable, and their full potential is just waiting to be unlocked. Keep going and keep your people alive, so that the suffering and sacrifices of your fallen will not be in vain.

Last Train Home will be released only on Steam. The game can be wishlisted on the Steam Store, but not pre-ordered. The price is yet to be revealed.
