You will go across the Olympic Exclusion Zone in your trusty station wagon. You can alter your vehicle to bolster its defenses and change its appearance. Freely customize your car with additional tools, more powerful engines, and cosmetics. As you explore uncharted territory, you will need to be ready for anything.
Supernatural Anomalies
In the trailer, several electrified objects were shown off as dangerous obstacles for the player to avoid. It's hard to say exactly how these strange eletric anomalies work, but we can speculate that they react as the player approaches, creating unexpected frantic segments of gameplay.
It is unclear if these electrical anomalies will serve any purpose other than to be yet another threat to your survival. Perhaps you can use them to charge car batteries or power other electrical devices? We will have to wait and see how these electrical storms affect other aspects of the gameplay.
Aside from electrical anomalies, there is another type of anomaly known as Instability which requires you to avoid becoming entangled in it. Being caught in it could put your life at risk or contaminate you with the unknown. As the name implies, it may have to do with destabilizing the atomic structure of whatever it encounters, including you.
Wilderness Excursion
If you're about to explore the wilderness inside the Zone, the first thought that may occur to you is to scavenge for resources. That is what this game is about.
Scavenge for parts from the abandoned factories or forgotten automobiles to customize your vehicle for further exploration.

As far as survival games go, Pacific Drive definitely has a unique take. In this game, you aren't facing off against your typical zombies, you are fighting against what looks to be nature itself breaking down and distorting.
Coupling that with vehicle customization and scavenging for parts to survive and Pacific Drive definitely brings enough uniqueness to the table to justify buying if you have any interest in this type of game.
