Naughty Dog announced in a tweet that they are pushing the launch of The Last of Us Part 1 PC back by a few weeks to March 28th.
The reception of fans and non-fans for HBO's The Last of Us live action TV series has motivated Naughty Dog to ensure that the PC debut for the Last of Us Part 1 will be in its best shape.
Fans speculate that this is a marketing strategy to promote the PC port to capitalize on the live action TV series' ending as the PC port of the game will now be released at around the same time as the live action finale.
Regardless, the release date change has been mostly received in a positive light as it shows that the developers want to release a high quality product, and will not settle for less.
Will The Last of Us: Factions Release Be Affected?
TLOU Factions is Unlikely to Be Affected
This release schedule change for TLOU Part 1's PC port does raise the question of whether this will affect The Last of Us: Factions' release schedule down the line. Factions is the standalone game that emerged from the multiplayer mode in the remastered version of The Last of Us 1.
