Everything We Know About Remnant 2

Remnant 2 Story Plot

Image

The continuation of Remnant 2 expands upon the existing storyline from the first game. Despite the devastation caused by the Root on Earth, there is a glimmer of hope for humanity. With the destruction of the Root's portal to the planet, and a decline in their numbers, survival has become a possibility. However, life beyond established human settlements remains challenging.

Seeking shelter in Ward 13, you and a companion find yourselves entangled in an unexpected turn of events. Commander Andrew Ford, founder of Ward 13, requests your assistance in activating a World Stone located within the old bunker. This remarkable device possesses the power to transport its user to various worlds.

Unfortunately, during this mission, not only does Commander Ford leave through the World Stone, an uninvited guest named Clementine (one of Ward 13's protectors) inadvertently gets sucked into the cryptic stone as well. Despite understanding the dangers involved, you make the courageous decision to embark on a rescue mission and follow her into worlds unknown.

Remnant 2 Gameplay

Image

Just like the first game, Remnant 2 is still a third-person shooter influenced by Souls-like games. Even the weakest enemies can kill you if you’re not too careful, and your health is still a resource to manage. But unlike the first game, the devs have promised that the procedural generation of levels has been improved - giving you new and challenging maps and enemy placements as you explore the game world.

Of course, story-related points will still have a pre-determined layout, but they will be integrated into fresh new levels you can spend hours exploring, collecting loot, and killing enemies in.

Another improvement is the Archetype system. Unlike its predecessor, where starting Classes mostly determined the equipment you start with, in Remnant 2, your chosen Archetype grants access to exclusive perks. You have the option to combine two Archetypes as primary and secondary and switch between them at will.

Careful consideration of Trait Points allocation is necessary since they are no longer infinite. Specializing in a few traits instead of maxing them all out becomes crucial.
