As seen in the game’s combat trailer above, Like A Dragon: Ishin will have an action-packed combat system that features four different combat styles: Gunman, Swordsman, Wild Dancer, and Brawler. Each combat style offers different gameplay that can be useful in various scenarios as you make your way through this historical action game.
Players will play as Sakamoto Ryōma, a lone samurai who was falsely accused of muder. Explore the capital city of Kyo and join the Shinseigumi to track down the true killer's identity and restore your honor!

Four Different Combat Styles
Like A Dragon: Ishin! offers four different combat styles that you can choose from. Players can mix-and-match certain styles to trigger a combo or create their own unique attack sequences. Below are the four different combat styles:

Like a Dragon: Ishin! Unique Mini-Games
Sega posted a one minute youtube video called, mini-games overview, showcasing the mini-games available in Like a Dragon: Ishin! These range from chicken racing, buyo dancing, fishing, sake drinking, poker, udon making, and a bunch of traditional Japanese games.
Mini-games in the Yakuza series are one of the main reasons the series became as popular as it has. Aside from sub-story tasks and side activities, players can pass their time by playing mini-games to keep themselves entertained when not progressing in the main plot.
The fan favorite rhythm-based mini-game, Karaoke is also included in the list. Press the buttons in time with the music and enjoy the scenes accompanying these ridiculous but sincere songs!
Another Life on The Farm
In the Another Life Overview video, the relaxing and heart-warming side story lets players gather and harvest food on the farm using traditional methods, test their culinary skills by cooking various meals, and even take a moment to pet a cat or dog.
Trooper Card System
Like A Dragon: Ishin will have a brand new card system called, Trooper Cards. Players will be able to collect and upgrade Trooper Cards to temporarily gain the edge in battle, with special attacks, buffs, and new abilities.
Trooper Cards also feature characters from the series, while others feature cameos from real-world fans of the franchise like Vampy Bitme. Assign four different Trooper Cards and experiment with different strategies to bring down enemies!
What to Expect in Like A Dragon: Ishin?
Like in previous Yakuza titles, you'll still need to beat up enemies. However, the combat flow in Like A Dragon: Ishin won't be a turn-based JRPG like the Yakuza: Like a Dragon which we think is good, considering that players will be able to perform fantastic combos and view satisfying finishing animations. This style of gameplay just feels more appropriate for the game.
Another obvious improvement is the graphics with improved framerate textures, detailes, and user interface with new animations. Cutscenes are more realistic than before. And despite not being an open world game, the size of each area is complex enough for you to wander through and explore.
We often see games set in a fictional feudal Japan like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice or Ghost of Tsushima, however Like a Dragon: Ishin! will differ in both tone and gameplay from those titles. We can expect a more comedic tone with serious drama occurring throughout the story accompanied by a beat 'em up style combat system.
