Forza Horizon 6 Officially Announced at TGS 2025

After much speculation, Forza Horizon 6 has finally been officially announced with a release window set for 2026. The open-world racing series will be making its long-awaited return next year and will be set in breathtaking Japan.
Forza Horizon 6 will release sometime in 2026 and will be available on Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Game Pass. The game is now available for wishlisting on Xbox Series X|S.
Ninja Gaiden 4 Reveals New Difficulty Mode and New Training Mode!

Ninja Gaiden 4 will feature two new difficulty modes to cater to both seasoned veterans and newcomers alike. Hero Mode is a new difficulty mode that allows players to focus more on the story while giving more accessibility options to help them ease into the intense ninja action. This difficulty mode can also be changed to Normal or Hard at any time.
Master Ninja difficulty is also showcased as a new difficulty option that players will have to commit to and stick with when they start a new game. Interested masochists will be tested to their limits, as this difficulty will feature unforgiving aggression by the enemy AI, and players will need to use everything in their arsenal to stand a chance of beating the game. Those who are skilled enough to complete the difficulty will receive a reward upon completion
Lastly, the game will feature its first-ever Training Mode, meaning players can now practice both their offensive and defensive maneuvers to get ready for the battles ahead.
Ninja Gaiden 4 releases on October 21, 2025 for PC (Steam, Game Pass), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Project Evilbane Comes Out 2027

Demonic forces are invading the kingdom, and it’s up to you to repel them. Take on difficult enemies with your allies as you slay gigantic demons. Use different weapons, moves, and even spells to fight back the demonic invasion and hold the line for your world.
The game features 4-player coop and relentless combat against the demonic forces that seek to overturn your world. Epic, and strategic action are promised by the game as you take on harder and harder enemies with the power to destroy the world. Through the Xbox Insider Program, some players can already experience what the game has to offer.
Monster Hunter Stories 1 and 2 Hit Xbox This November, Stories 3 Follows in March 2026

Capcom has announced updates for the Monster Hunter Stories series. Both Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2 will be available on November 14, 2025.
In addition, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is scheduled to release on March 13, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S. The latest showcase also featured new gameplay footage from the upcoming third entry, highlighting its turn-based RPG mechanics and expanded features.
Gungrave GORE Blood Heat Announced!

Gungrave GORE Blood Heat is a full rebuild of the original Gungrave GORE (2022), developed by Studio IGGYMOB. This new version is powered by a new engine and features enhanced visuals. Beyond graphical upgrades, the remake also introduces modernized gameplay, new systems, and refined character designs for both returning and new characters.
The story once again follows the main character, Beyond the Grave, as he takes on the Raven Clan, a criminal organization responsible for distributing deadly drugs. The game remains a third-person action shooter at its core.
Gungrave GORE Blood Heat does not yet have a confirmed release date, but it is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and PlayStation 5.

Age of Mythology Retold Adds New Campaign, Gods, Powers, and More!

Age of Mythology: Retold’s newest expansion, Heavenly Spear is set in Japan, where players will encounter new gods, monsters, powers, and a completely new campaign. The new 12-mission campaign tells the tale of Yasuko, a farmer’s daughter who is thrust upon a new calling when she finds a magical spear.
With war looming over the horizon, Yasuko must learn the secrets of the relic and prevent Kagemasa, a ruthless warlord who wants to become a god, from dooming the land.
The Heavenly Spear expansion will be available on September 30, 2025, where owners of the Premium Edition of the game will receive the DLC upon launch.
Terminull Brigade and Evangelion are collaborating on November 30, 2025

Terminull Brigade brings its world and story to Xbox through an action-packed cinematic, and teased that it and Evangelion are doing a collaboration. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 New World Update Adds Japan’s Cities and Landmarks!

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024’s newest update will showcase Japan in its entirety in vibrant detail by including numerous areas of interest, airports, and many more sights! The update includes 23 new photogrammetry areas featuring more than 60 areas of interest, 5 airports, and new challenges.
These areas include Osaka Castle, Fukuoka Tower, Tokyo Skytree, and more. In addition to this, the famous Nihon Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation (NAMC) YS-11 will also be added to the game.
World Update 20 is a free content update for all players of both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
HITMAN World of Assassination Reveals New Mission Featuring Bruce Lee!

HITMAN World of Assassination’s newest mission finds Agent 47 partnering up with the legend Bruce Lee as they take down the elusive and dangerous target, the Dragon. Agent 47 must protect undercover Agent Lee, as he has infiltrated the tournament and the meetings of the Concord Union.
The goal of the mission is to secure Lee’s safety to win the final prize of the tournament, which is a duel against the Union’s leader, The Dragon. The new mission will be available today, September 25, till November 20 for free.
HITMAN World of Assassination is available to play now on PC (Steam, macOS, Linux), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

A rhythm game with unique visuals and presentation makes it way unto the stage. Showing a fever trip of unedited gameplay. Adding on to its engaging visuals is its mashup of songs spanning different styles and genres, which according to Xbox, make up less than half of the game’s soundtrack. Winter Burrow Coming November 12, 2025

A new gameplay trailer for cozy woodland survival game Winter Burrow premiered at TGS 2025, revealing its upcoming November 12 release date.
The trailer’s narration tells the story of the game’s protagonist, a young mouse returning to the dangerous wilderness after living life in the city. Additionally, the trailer featured new gameplay footage, offering fans a glimpse of its combat, exploration, and survival mechanics.
Winter Burrow is launching November 12, 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Mistfall Hunter Coming This Year on Xbox and PC

The thrilling third-person PvPvE extraction RPG, Mistfall Hunter, shared new progress on its development. During the show, the developers showcased their second map, Solemn Needles.
This area is home to various highlights, which include the Divine Anchor, a relic that attracts enemies, Hastine’s Fall, marked by the enormous corpse of a giant still emitting divine strength, and the Witchery Woods, a shadowed, secrets-laden forest.
Mistfall Hunter is currently under development for Xbox Series X|S and PC and is set to be released sometime in 2025.
Starsand Island Gets February 1, 2026 Release Date

Seed Lab debuted Starsand Island’s first CG trailer, revealing the life sim’s February 1, 2026 release date. In addition to its release date and narrative cinematics, the trailer also gave viewers a small glimpse into the game’s home management system.
Starsand Island is set for release on February 1, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5.
Sudden Strike 5 Launches in 2026

The Sudden Strike series is returning with a new entry, as an exclusive Xbox trailer has revealed Sudden Strike 5, a real-time tactics game set during World War II. Players will take on the role of generals from various factions, each with distinct strengths, and will make use of an enhanced Doctrine System.
The game will also feature secondary objectives and a wide range of tactical options, allowing players to approach battles in multiple ways.
Sudden Strike 5 is scheduled to release sometime in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Japanese-Inspired Maps Revealed

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 showcased its upcoming multiplayer maps that are based on Japanese culture, blended in Call of Duty fashion. The presentation showcased Toshin, a new map that is set in 2033 Tokyo. This field combines well-defined lanes and interesting set pieces that imagine futuristic Japan.
Meanwhile, Den is a map that presents a countryside setting outside of Tokyo. It centers around a Japanese castle that is repurposed as a Guild base.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to be released on November 17, 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. Its Early Access begins on October 2, and the Open Beta on October 5.
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven Available on Xbox Today

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is a full 3D HD remake of the classic 1993 Japanese RPG. The game continues to reflect the classic title’s fast-paced turn-based gameplay, while incorporating new mechanics such as the Surprise Attack and United Attack, which were shown during the show.
The remake features new story elements, quality-of-life improvements, and multiple difficulty levels to make this famously difficult SaGa entry more accessible to newcomers.
The Empire of Varennes welcomes all as Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven comes to Xbox Series X|S today.
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Previews New Ocean Floor Area

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will be introducing a brand-new area called Ocean Floor, adding to the original games’ wide breadth of content. Here, players will explore the underwater city of Mersea, an aquatic biome inhabited by mermaids and under attack from a myriad of monsters, both new and familiar.
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is slated for release on October 30, 2025. Pre-orders for Xbox Series X|S and PC are now available.
HOTEL BARCELONA Launches September 26, 2025

From the makers of Deadly Premonition and No More Heroes comes a 2.5D side-scrolling action rougelite game with HOTEL BARCELONA. Players take on the role of Justine, a rookie U.S. Marshal trapped in a cursed hotel filled with serial killers.
The game offers co-op multiplayer, where two more players can join and take on the hotel together. Additionally, there will be a PvP Invasion mode that allows other players to interrupt each other’s solo run.

Fallout 76 Thanks Japanese Community

Fallout 76 directors Jon Rush and Bill Lacoste summarized the MMO’s busy, content-filled year, highlighting the most recent C.A.M.P. Revamp. The developers also took time to specifically thank the game’s Japanese community and feature a few standout C.A.M.P.s created by Fallout 76’s Japanese gamers.
Aniimo Pre-Registrations Now Live!

Pawprint Studios has released a new trailer for Aniimo, a free-to-play open-world creature-collecting ARPG. The trailer introduced several new creatures and evolutions, including Stellarys, an evolution of Celesist that has a special rainy form and can only be captured in the wild.
The footage also showcased creature behaviors, such as how some species prefer solitude while others interact dynamically. For example, Helgon provokes Helmuts by exploiting their weaknesses, demonstrating unique interspecies exchanges. The trailer additionally revealed new branches of the Ignitis family, featuring a white mantis-like creature that can fly across water, along with a newly introduced electric-type branch.
Players interested in trying the game early can now pre-register for the exclusive PC beta test, which will be available soon.
Aniimo is set in the world of Idyll, where players explore, collect, and battle alongside various creatures. The game is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Android, and iOS.
Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly Remake is Coming Early 2026 to Xbox

Koei Tecmo has announced Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, a full remake of the series’ second installment built on the studio’s new game engine. The remake features updated visuals, enhanced sound design with support for 7.1.4 channels, and refined atmospheric effects to further capture the unsettling tone of the original.
Combat has also been reworked, introducing new focus and zoom filters that change player perspectives during encounters. A new hand-holding mechanic has been added as well, emphasizing the connection and bond between the twin protagonists.
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is scheduled to release in early 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
Set in the haunted Minakami Village, the game follows twins Mio and Mayu Amakura as they confront hostile spirits using the Camera Obscura while uncovering the village’s dark history and secrets.
Double Dragon Revive Extra Mode Unveiled at TGS 2025

Arc System Works unveiled a new trailer for the side-scrolling beat ’em up Double Dragon Revive during the Xbox at Tokyo Game Show live showcase. The trailer highlighted several gameplay features, including the ability to control four playable characters, cooperative play, and a highest-difficulty setting.
In addition to gameplay, the trailer introduced Extra Mode, which will include more than 50 missions and additional story content. These missions cover various objectives such as defense and extermination, along with new character-focused stories that expand beyond the main narrative.
Double Dragon Revive is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2025, for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
007 First Light Reveals Gemma Chan as Dr. Selina Tan

007: First Light has released a new trailer with new gameplay footage and cinematic sequences. Among the featured scenes is an action set piece where James Bond engages in combat aboard a falling plane before leaping through a descending jeep.
The trailer also introduces a new character, Dr. Selina Tan, who will be portrayed by British actress Gemma Chan.
007: First Light is scheduled for release on March 27, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Players who pre-order will receive a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, which includes 25 hours of early access, four exclusive outfits, one new weapon skin, and Gleaming Packs.
