Spider-Man 2 is loaded with easter eggs. Among them is a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed King T’Challa or Black Panther in the MCU films. Read on to learn more about it, along with previous tributes to the late actor.
Spider-Man 2 Honors Chadwick Boseman
Spider-Man 2 has included a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, which involves going to the entrance of the Wakandan Embassy in the Midtown district as Miles Morales. Once by the door, there will be an option to press the triangle button to “honor”. Upon doing so, Miles will do the Wakanda Forever Salute, in which he crosses his arms over his chest.
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
This isn’t the first time that a Spider-Man game referenced Chadwick. The actor died a few months before Spider-Man: Miles Morales was released. To honor his death, the game included a short message you’ll see during the credits, once you’ve beaten the game. The letter reads as follows: In loving memory of a noble king, Chadwick Boseman. "His honor, strength, and compassion will reverberate for generations to come. Wakanda forever." Additionally, they changed the name of 42nd Street to “Chadwick Way”, a reference to Chadwick’s role in the biographical sports film 42 as Jackie Robinson, the first black man to play in Major League Baseball.
