Sony Hypes Up PS5 DualSense Controller Features for Silent Hill 2 Remake

Silent Hill 2 remake is expected to be a PS5 exclusive title for at least a year, as revealed in the recently released "Silent Hill 2 - Immersion Trailer" video on the PlayStation channel. The game launches on the PS5 and PC next month, October 8. As seen in the ending parts of the trailer, Silent Hill 2 remake will be a "PlayStation 5 console exclusive." Though the game will also be available on the PC, Sony confirmed that Silent Hill 2 remake is "not available on other formats until 10.08.2025."

We don't expect the PS6 to drop around that time, so this confirmation from Sony could mean that Silent Hill 2 remake may potentially launch on other platforms such as the Xbox consoles and Nintendo Switch, among others.
Currently, PC players can get Silent Hill 2 remake on Steam. The latest reveal by Sony could also mean that the game may head to other platforms, such as Epic Games, GoG, and more by next year. Though take all of these with a grain of salt as nothing official has been announced.

The new trailer showed players how the Silent Hill 2 remake, developed by Bloober Team, plays using the PS5 DualSense controller and how it looks on the console. Sony showed that Silent Hill 2 remake makes full use of the controller's Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers features that will let players "feel every visceral attack." Silent Hill 2 remake also adapts Dynamic Lightbar mechanisms wherein the controller's lightbar changes colors as it responds to the game. Additionally, the game supports 3D Audio—but do note that this feature needs the console's latest software updates.
