Resident Evil Requiem pre-orders go live on October 29, along with a Resident Evil Anniversary video. Read on to learn more about what fans think of Capcom’s marketing of the game so far, and what many expect to see on the anniversary video.
Resident Evil Requiem Pre-Order Updates and Resident Evil Anniversary Video
Available October 29
Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) will open pre-orders on October 29, along with the release of the franchise’s anniversary video. Capcom announced this during the Capcom Presents panel at New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2025.
Compared to the recent Tokyo Game Show 2025, where Capcom shared some details on RE9’s gameplay during their live demos, no new information was shared during the NYCC 2025. Fans over at Capcom’s pre-order announcement post expressed their frustration and bewilderment at how the company has handled the game’s promotion.

One user noted that this has been the "weirdest marketing cycle" they have witnessed as Capcom has been tight-lipped about the game ever since it was announced. Others emphasized that they have seen the same trailer over and over again, essentially killing the hype for them.
So far, Capcom has had a couple of trailers that showcased snippets of the game's action and narrative. The developers also previously stated that more information about the "bad guy"side of the storyline will be shared in the near future.
Although some fans are growing weary waiting for new details about the game, RE9 remains one of the top-wishlisted games on Steam and continues to grow its following, according to its SteamDB charts. The October 29th pre-order launch day will also mark the official announcement of the game’s price, and possibly different editions or DLCs that may be included.
No New RE9 Info on the Resident Evil Anniversary Video

Capcom made a disclaimer that the upcoming anniversary video will not showcase anything new for RE9. While this is the case, players remain hopeful that some hidden secrets may be revealed in the video about RE9, or even other titles of the franchise.
Some speculate that the heavily rumored return of the fan-favorite RE character Leon Kennedy could be hinted at during the anniversary video, considering players will go back to Raccoon City years after the original outbreak. As of writing, there has been no substantial information regarding any surprise appearances of previous RE characters in RE9.
Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on February 27, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
