Red Dead Redemption Gets a Next-Gen Upgrade
The Rockstar Classic Finds New Life
Red Dead Redemption is receiving a next-generation upgrade with enhanced ports for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The Western adventure arrives on modern platforms with brand new enhancements, quality of life changes, and DLC from past versions of the game.
A port of Red Dead Redemption is also arriving on Android and iOS as standalone apps with mobile-friendly controls included. Netflix subscribers will also be able to get the game for free, similar to the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition.
Both enhanced versions of Red Dead Redemption are launching on December 2.
Red Dead Redemption Modernized
Red Dead Redemption on modern consoles will see hefty enhancements and improvements from their previous ports on last-generation consoles. In particular, it will run at 60 FPS and see support for DLSS and HDR, with the Switch 2 version also supporting mouse controls. Owners of the last-gen ports need not worry, as they can upgrade their game for free and carry over their save files to the new version.
These enhanced versions of Red Dead Redemption will come with the Undead Nightmare DLC, a fan favorite expansion pack that sees protagonist John Marston trying to find a cure for a zombie plague affecting his family,and bonus content from the Game of the Year edition. This includes pre-order bonus content, outfit packs, and brand new missions.
Red Dead Redemption will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Android, and iOS on December 2. It is currently available on Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
