Guaranteed Critical Catch Trick for Pokemon GO Discovered by Reddit User
Hit an Excellent Throw in the Smallest Circle Possible
Catching Pokemon in Pokemon GO can be a pretty tedious task, especially if the Pokemon you’re trying to catch refuses to let itself be captured. However, one Reddit user may have cracked the code, revealing a trick to always get critical catches.
Critical catches were introduced in 2017, and is a mechanic where players catch Pokemon after a single Poke Ball shake. This was always thought of as a luck-based mechanic, where it only occurs by chance. However, Reddit user Zombie_Alpaca_Lips revealed a trick that guarantees a critical catch for standard Pokemon every time.
Zombie_Alpaca_Lips said that "If you hit an excellent throw on a Pokemon on the smallest possible circle, it will guarantee a critical catch.” According to them, it works every time, and they tested it for weeks before posting on Reddit to add some credibility to the argument. However, they pointed out that they haven’t been able to try it out on raid catches, so the trick may not work for those. The user then emphasized that it should be the smallest possible circle, and not just a small circle.
“If you think I'm lying out my butt, test it out yourself before telling me I'm wrong” they added. The post was then edited 3 times, each adding a link to a video of the player catching Pokemon with the trick. Most of the post’s comments either confirm this theory, or mention it being too difficult to hit the little circle.
With this discovery, I wonder if I could finally catch a Galarian Bird for myself, which is ridiculously hard to catch. Moreover, if it doesn’t work for legendaries or raid catches, does it boost catch rates instead? With the trick now out in the open, it’s only a matter of time until it gets further tested.
