Release Window and Gameplay Snippets Revealed
As announced in today’s Pokémon Presents, Pokémon Champions is set to release sometime in 2026 for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. The short presentation also featured some snippets of gameplay that Trainers will enjoy, such as inviting previous Pokémon partners, or recruiting new ones to head into battle with you!
The game aims to let players experience and enjoy the battles Trainers know and love from the Pokémon series, all in the comfort of your Nintendo Switch device or mobile.
Players can either invite previous Pokémon partners by linking with Pokémon HOME through cross-platform play, or they can opt to find new Pokémon within the game to recruit into their team. In-game recruitment is either done through Trial Recruitment, where players can test the waters first with a new Pokémon, or Permanent Recruitment, which will add the chosen Pokémon to the player's roster. These recruitments cost Victory Points or VP, which are earned through Ranked Battles. Mix and match to build your perfect team, ready for battle.
Enjoy Single or Double Ranked Battles with other Trainers around the world through online play, Casual Battles with other Trainers in a relaxed environment, or duel against your family and friends in Private Battles. The game aims to deliver a more immersive experience than ever before, bringing in the exhilaration and excitement of a real battle at your fingertips.
Pokémon Champions will also introduce an extensive but flexible and convenient mechanic for raising and training Pokémon that lets players enjoy battles at a greater level. Teach your Pokémon the moves that you find interesting with the quick touch of a button and a certain amount of VP, and then train to make the most out of it! Tailor your team's skills to match your own personal battle style.
