Sony Removes TV Shows on PS Store Due to Content Licensing Arrangements
Playstation Store Loses Discovery Shows
PlayStation announced on their official website that users will no longer be able to watch Discovery shows that they have already purchased starting December 31, 2023. Their legal update notice notes that the shows will automatically be removed from the user’s library.
This includes popular series such as Mythbuster and Deadliest Catch, to name a few. According to their notice, this was due to the content licensing arrangements of Sony with their content providers. Unfortunately, further details regarding the licensing deals for the Discovery titles are currently unknown. Sony has also yet to announce if refunds will be available for users who purchased so stay tuned for updates on this.

Playstation Video Discontinues Movie Purchases
PlayStation Video was an online service where users could purchase TV shows and movies on their PlayStation devices. As of August 2021, Sony officially shut down the service, due to the rise of streaming platforms.
Sony discontinued movie and TV show purchases but assured PS users they could still "access movie and TV content they have purchased through PlayStation Store for on-demand playback on their PS4, PS5 and mobile devices." However, on August 31, 2022, Sony announced that movies licensed by StudioCanal would officially be removed from the video library for users in Germany and Austria due to "evolving licensing agreements with content providers." Affected customers were not subjected to partial or full refunds.
