NIKKE Global Players Boycott Over CN Server Differences
Global Players Frustrated

GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE global players expressed frustration over Chinese (CN) server differences. NIKKE’s CN server went live on May 22, and players noticed that this version has received substantial updates compared to the game’s global release.
In a Reddit post by user Glittering_Novel_783 on May 22, they noted that the CN version has all the quality-of-life changes global players have asked for the past two years. This includes reduced loading times, Tribe Towers having auto-progress, buffed characters, better shops, and more.

One of the things they noted was the Regular and Manufacturer Molds having better quality in the CN server. Molds are items that players can open to get new characters. High-quality Molds on the global server have around 60% chance of getting an SSR and 40% for an SR, while Manufacturer molds have 50% chance for an SSR, 30% for an SR, and 20% chance for an R.
However, the CN server has a better system for Molds, as they have a pity system which guarantees them an SSR once they accumulate 50 pity shards through pulling, which the global version doesn’t have. Some have also reported that Manufacturer Molds in CN allegedly does not include Rs, increasing the chances to get SSRs or SRs.
Community Backlash

Fans on Reddit were disappointed and felt that the global version was being put aside. Many mentioned that it made no sense for SHIFT UP not to apply the same improvements to the CN server over to Global. Some even cited other games doing the same strategy with their regional differences, as developers allegedly prioritize CN servers compared to other versions due to the region’s big market.
Over at NIKKE’s official Discord, players have flooded the feedback channel with their complaints. Several threads were made to express their anger, which were upvoted and commented a hundred to a thousand times.
The topmost thread on their Discord feedback channel is about players wanting to get the same benefits as the CN server has. A user claimed that a new Private skin exclusively released in CN, providing screenshots as proof, which many wanted to have for the global version. Comments on this thread are growing by the hour, and fans are still unsatisfied with the situation.
SHIFT UP’s Response to the Backlash

According to SHIFT UP’s May 2025 Developer’s Note, due to the significant differences compared to the global version, the CN version will have its own separate build. They explained, "The 2.5 years of gaps and separate builds meant that on the one hand, there might possibly be story spoilers, but on the other hand, it also allows us to incorporate some unique and complementary elements."
SHIFT UP said they are aware of the fans’ frustration over the differences, and stated that both versions "will grow in their own directions under different conditions and circumstances" and "their differences will enrich one another."
With this, SHIFT UP promised to continue their efforts for both versions of the game. "We remain committed to supporting the global version with our full effort and will continue working to strengthen both versions together," SHIFT UP stated.
Player Response to the Developer’s Notes

Despite SHIFT UP’s best effort to explain the situation, fans were still outraged. Subreddits like r/NikkeMobile and r/gachagaming mocked their response, and stated that it’s just another way to keep players at bay.
Numerous memes and satirical jokes were made as fans laughed over SHIFT UP’s attempt to alleviate the situation. User satufa2 created a meme on their statement about the differences "enriching one another," and the image depicting a person slowly turning into a clown. Players reached out to other players to review bomb the game as a way of protest for the developers to notice their concerns.

They also said that they must stop in-game spending until SHIFT UP properly addresses the issue and implement the same updates for the global version. This "spending freeze" is a common practice for gacha games players that has issues with the game as it directly affects the company’s revenue.
As of writing, fans are still clamoring for changes, filling up Subreddits and Discord threads with their complaints. It’s still up in the air whether SHIFT UP releases another statement, or continue with their plan of offering different updates and contents for different regions.
