 ⚫︎ Nintendo has announced that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be returning with the 'Casual', 'Normal' and 'Hard' difficulty levels. Players can begin on either 'Casual' or 'Normal' mode. Once they have cleared the game on Normal mode, they can proceed on 'Hard' mode.

 ⚫︎ A new Metroid Prime 4: Beyond trailer was released, showcasing new gameplay footage and new information about its new set of combat abilities for protagonist Samus, a peek into the alien Planet Viewros, and characters to meet over the course of the story.

 ⚫︎ Nintendo has quietly unveiled new information about Samus’s motorbike, a recently introduced feature in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. First revealed during the September Nintendo Direct alongside the game’s release date, the new vehicle marks a notable shift in the series’ traversal mechanics.

 ⚫︎ Metroid Prime 4: Beyond just received another rating from the regional classification board of Brazil mere days before Nintendo Direct, which is set to go live on September 12. It is possible that news of the latest Metroid Prime title will appear during the showcase, but nothing has been confirmed as of writing.

 ⚫︎ Nintendo appears to be moving closer to a release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, as the game’s Nintendo eShop page now lists an ESRB rating. The title has been rated T for Teen due to animated blood and violence, with the board also noting the presence of in-game purchases. While their nature is unclear, they may point to future expansions or add-ons available directly in-game.

On July 25, the Korean Game Content Rating Board issued a “12 and up” rating for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, citing mild violence. The rating has sparked speculation among fans that a release date announcement may be on the horizon.

 ⚫︎ Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will launch on both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. In addition to standard controls, the Switch 2 will feature new mouse support for a more intuitive gameplay experience. Players can also choose between two graphics modes: Quality mode, offering 4K at 60fps with HDR, or Performance mode, which delivers 1080p at 120fps with HDR for smoother gameplay.

 ⚫︎ Nintendo unveiled new gameplay footage for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond during its March 2025 Direct, confirming the game's release window for 2025.

The trailer features Samus Aran navigating the dense, alien jungles of the planet Viewros, where she encounters a host of hostile creatures and mysterious energy sources. New gameplay mechanics include Psychic Abilities that let Samus manipulate matter and energy—such as bending beam trajectories, operating distant mechanisms, and unlocking doors remotely.

The footage also showcased extended combat sequences, diverse enemy types, and the richly detailed environment of Viewros, offering a deeper look at what players can expect from the long-awaited sequel.

 ⚫︎ Nintendo’s latest investor relations report confirms several first-party titles scheduled for release in 2025, including Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Pokémon Legends Z-A, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

 ⚫︎ This week, Nintendo updated the official Metroid website with new details about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, fueling speculation that the long-awaited title is nearing release. Originally announced during E3 2017, the game's development has spanned more than seven years, outlasting both the event itself and potentially the console it was initially planned for.

 ⚫︎ Nintendo and guidebook publisher Piggyback have announced a new art book, Metroid Prime 1–3: A Visual Retrospective, set to release in Summer 2025. Developed in collaboration with Retro Studios, the book will explore 20 years of Metroid Prime history, featuring concept art, sketches, and development insights.

July 30

 ⚫︎ Following Nintendo’s announcement of Metroid Prime 4 last June, First 4 Figures has revealed a new Samus Gravity Suit PVC statue. Preorders for the collectible open on August 8, 2024.

While pricing details have not yet been confirmed, the statue is expected to be similar in cost to the previously released Varia Suit PVC, which ranged from $99 for the standard edition to $164.99 for the exclusive edition.
