Indiana Jones and the Great Circle May Take 15-20 Hours to Beat

Image
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is reportedly the lengthiest game that the studio has ever put together, as shared by creative director Axel Torvenius. Read on to find out what other things are in store for this title!

Indiana Jones’ Longest Adventure Yet

With Nearly Four Hours Of Cutscenes

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is going to be one long adventure, set to be the “biggest and longest game that [developer] Machine Games have ever done,” said creative director Axel Torvenius in an interview with MinnMax. He revealed that at this point in time, there’s already roughly three hours and 45 or 40 minutes of cutscenes alone, admitting that “It’s a lot.”

With that many cutscenes scattered around different parts of the game, and the expansive gameplay it will offer that is circled around exploration and puzzles, this may very well hit a 15 hour to 20 hour mark. For reference, other Indiana Jones games are marked at around 10 hours for main story completion, and Machine Games’ other series, Wolfenstein and its sequel Wolfenstein II, clocks in around 15 hours with some side quests.

In other parts of the rapid-fire interview, Torvenius, alongside design director Jens Andersson, disclosed more info about the upcoming game, such as the Disguise System where Indy (an affectionate nickname for the titular protagonist, Indiana Jones) can “switch disguises at almost any point in the game, it’s kinda up to you,” as well as the inclusion of “cool and humorous lines” that he will be saying as he takes down enemies. They also revealed that the post-launch DLC titled Order of Giants will be a “very heavy, narratively-driven unique experience that fits in very good with the main campaign,” and will definitely include a ranking Giant puzzle of some sort, the “climax of the DLC.”

The latest installment in the series, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, is set for release on December 8th, 2024. Follow brilliant archeologist Indiana Jones once again on another adrenaline-pumping adventure in the year 1937 through various locations around the world such as the heart of the Vatican and the mysterious pyramids of Egypt, all the way to the sunken temples of Sukhothai and beyond. A powerful ancient power connected to the Great Circle lies hidden, and sinister forces are out to claim this for themselves—the world needs Indiana Jones to save the day!
