⚫︎ Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone has said he plans to take on more of a creative director role for the upcoming 1.7 update, allowing his small team to handle much of the development while he focuses on his next project, Haunted Chocolatier.
In a Q&A posted to the official Haunted Chocolatier site, Barone acknowledged that the arrangement may cause “a little” delay for the new game, but “not as much as you might think.” He added that while he’ll eventually need to dedicate more time back to Stardew, his priority for now is pushing forward on his second title.

⚫︎ Haunted Chocolatier and Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" stated that the upcoming chocolatier simulation will have a bigger world than Stardew Valley. He is now fully focused in finishing the game, and hopes to release it within the next five years.

⚫︎ Although still far from being complete, GameRant presents the idea that Haunted Chocolatier has the perfect chance to honor its predecessor in Stardew Valley by releasing on its 10th anniversary on February 26, 2026. However, with the details the creator has shared on the progress for the new title, it might seem more unlikely than thought possible.
⚫︎ ConcernedApe further clarifies the similarities and differences between his two projects, where his upcoming one, Haunted Chocolatier, is more of an action RPG, but still retains some life-sim elements from Stardew Valley, albeit a bit more dark fantasy.

⚫︎ As ConcernedApe finally finishes off the last remaining bugs from Stardew Valley’s 1.6 Patch on all platforms, he’s finally ready to fully prioritize the development of his new title, Haunted Chocolatier, even suggesting as to hide in a cabin in the woods away from the internet to fully hyperfocus on the game.

⚫︎ After a bout of silence regarding Haunted Chocolatier Updates, ConcernedApe finally shared new screenshots for the game in development. The gap in development was due to the creator focusing on the major 1.6 Update for Stardew Valley.
