Rockstar Editor to be Removed from PS4 and Xbox on February 20, 2024

Will Continue to be Fully Supported on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S

Rockstar explained on its website that as they begin to approach the limits of the technical capacity of old-gen consoles, they are "taking necessary steps to allow for future GTA Online updates on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One." This meant the removal of the video creation feature, Rockstar Editor, including any Clips or Projects saved in the editor, from the old-gen consoles.

In an official support article, Rockstar stated, "The Rockstar Editor will no longer be available in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles as of February 20, 2024. This change is necessary to allow us to support ongoing updates to these games on both platforms."

Meanwhile, the Rockstar Editor will continue to be fully supported on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.

The Rockstar Editor is a special feature in GTA 5 that enables players to record, edit, and share videos from footage in both Story Mode and GTA Online. It includes special camera modes, filters, depth of field, weather customization, and audio customization options. The Editor also includes the Director Mode feature, which allows players to create moviemaking sequences using a diverse cast of characters. Finished videos can be uploaded to YouTube and the Rockstar Games Social Club.
