GTA 6 November Launch Pushes Through, Says Take-Two
Physical Editions Will Be Out on Release Date

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) will not be getting more delays, based on recent statements by publisher Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick. Zelnick denied rumors circulating online that Rockstar Games will delay physical copies and reaffirmed GTA 6's November launch, with marketing dropping in Summer 2026.
Regarding rumors that there will only be digital versions on the release date, Zelnick told Variety that it is "not the plan." Speaking to IGN, he also said he is confident GTA 6 is on track for its launch. "Because any time you're getting closer to marketing beats, you're obviously in a place where your confidence level is as high as it can be," he noted, reaffirming the November 19 release date.

Take-Two also reaffirmed GTA 6's November launch in its Q3 2026 earnings results, which were just disclosed to the public. "Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer," the report said.
This aligned with the July 2025 news of job opportunities by Rockstar Games hinting at global marketing plans for the next 12 months. The list covered Marketing Localization QA Test roles in several countries, although at that time, there was no confirmation that the roles were intended for GTA 6.
One of the Most Anticipated Games

Marketing plans announced for the summer generated excitement among the GTA playerbase. Exiting the "information drought" with Take-Two—as some fans would call it—had them looking forward to a third trailer, gameplay footage, artwork, and the general news of no more delays for GTA 6. A user commented that they are "so back."
The GTA series remains well-received despite the massive gap in years between GTA 5 and GTA 6. Take-Two's quarterly report showed strong sales performance for the franchise, noting that the games "vastly outpaced our forecasts, with recurrent consumer spending growth of 27%." GTA 5 sales climbed by another 5 million, hitting 225 million copies sold since it first released more than a decade ago in 2013.
Aside from GTA, Red Dead Redemption 2 also saw sales of 3 million additional units, bringing the total to 82 million since launch. Across their games and labels in total, Take-Two achieved net bookings of $1.76 billion, substantially outperforming the company' expectations.

First announced in 2023 and originally slated for launch in Fall 2025, GTA 6 had already encountered two high-profile delays—moved to May 26, 2026, and then to November. Last year in November, news of GTA 6's delay triggered a drop in Take-Two Interactive's stocks, losing around 10% of shares in after-hours trading. Moreover, the internet joined in on the buzz, with fans and companies alike sharing GTA-infused humor, such as "Ah sh*t, here we go again" and "we're gonna get [something] before GTA 6."
With all these reveals, it appears that GTA 6 will finally break free from delays. Set in the fictional Vice City of Leonida with dual protagonists Jason and Lucia, the open-world action-adventure game will hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
