Rockstar Games Job Listings Hints GTA 6 New Updates
Global Marketing Coming Soon

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) seems to be gearing up for its release as developer Rockstar Games has opened several job opportunities in Quality Assurance and Release Management. On Rockstar Games’ official website, they have opened multiple job listings for Marketing Localization QA Tester roles in different countries.
These regions/countries include Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, China, Spain, and Latin America. The jobs are for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Rockstar London, which lines up well with GTA 6’s intended release date. Although this is the case, it is quite a common practice for QA and localization to have temporary roles in the industry, and Rockstar has not confirmed that these jobs are for GTA 6.
Despite this, opening up such roles often indicates companies releasing a game soon, which in this case, is GTA 6. Unless Rockstar Games has other titles launching within the next year or so, this is a great sign that GTA 6 is nearing the end of its development and its release date is final.
A Possible Mobile Companion App for GTA 6

Beyond QA and Localization, Rockstar Games is also looking for a Mobile Engineer for their office in Scotland. The job requires "a strong understanding of iOS and/or Android development to help us build and maintain our mobile platform, including our SDK, and build systems." Many speculate that this new hiring may point towards a new mobile companion app dedicated to GTA 6, which the studio has done for their other titles in the past.
In 2013, Rockstar Games released the "iFruit" for GTA 5 for iOS and Android. The app served as a companion app that allowed players to customize their vehicles and interact with Franklin’s dog, Chop, as a virtual pet. Meanwhile, the RDR2 Companion App launched the same day as Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018. It included features such as a real-time interactive map, Arthur’s journal, game manual, and other useful things about the game.

It would not be surprising for Rockstar Games to follow a similar approach of having a companion app for GTA 6, given that teasers and trailers indicate that social media will play a huge role in the highly anticipated open-world title. Developers could expand upon one of the features in the iFruit called "LifeInvader," which was a social network parody that worked as an in-game social media app for the game.
With GTA 6’s release date fully intact, Rockstar Games is readying up for the game’s global promotion and other things associated with it. GTA 6 is now set to be released on May 26, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
