FF7 Remake Part 3 Will Be Loved By Everyone

The unnamed Final Fantasy 7 Remake part 3 "will be loved by everyone," according to Director Naoki Hamaguchi. During the Brasil Game Show 2025 held from October 9th to 12th, Hamaguchi shared more details about what fans can expect on the third installment of the FF7 Remake trilogy.
He said that they already have a clear idea of the ending for FF7 Remake Part 3. Hamaguchi stated, "I think this conclusion will appeal to both those who loved the original and those who became fans of FF7 thanks to the Remake series. I'm confident this new game will be loved by everyone."
The Remake trilogy aims to tell a different version of the beloved FF7 series, which made long-time fans anxious about how it would be executed. With two games under the trilogy’s belt, many are curious how it will close out the epic saga compared to the original game.

Last year, Hamaguchi spoke with VG247 and explained their approach to developing FF7 Rebirth. He emphasized that their goal was to create a breath of fresh air when players travel from region to region in the game, hence, the addition of a plethora of mini-games and a variety of enemies.
Despite finding the right systems for Rebirth, they wanted to continue to innovate and improve upon the game for its sequel, especially since there is a huge expectation for its ending. Hamaguchi elaborated, "I think if we did just do the same thing again for the third game in the series, then it wouldn’t really be very new or exciting anymore. I want to add a different twist, rearrange things slightly for the next game, and have a slightly different look to things.
FF7 Remake Switch 2 and Xbox Release Adds Streamlined Progression

While development for the final game in the trilogy seems to be going smoothly, the first and second installments still appear to be receiving updates. During the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, Square Enix revealed that FF7 Remake will be ported to the Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside this, it will receive a new feature called "Streamlined Progression," where players will have maximum HP, MP, Limit gauge, and ATB gauge at all times, as well as making every attack deal 9,999 damage.
This was designed so that players can focus on the story and catch up immediately, considering FF7 Rebirth is already available and FF7 Remake Part 3 is in the works. Earlier this month, Hamaguchi sat down with Automaton Japan and expounded upon this new feature.

According to Hamaguchi, he personally pushed this feature, knowing that it may be controversial to some. He stated, "The biggest reason was that we were finally able to announce the FFVII Remake trilogy’s multiplatform expansion. That timing was what really led to the decision to include Streamlined Progression."
Furthermore, he wanted new players not to feel overwhelmed trying to take on the trilogy from start to finish. "Personally, I like to try many different games just to keep myself up to date, but I don’t really have the time, so I only get so far. Sometimes it makes me wish I had access to debug functions so I could cover more," Hamaguchi said.

With the Streamlined progression and skipping through cutscenes, the director noted that the game can be finished in under 10 hours. Hamaguchi concluded, "I personally believe that, with digital entertainment today, the player should have the choice in how they interact with content. That’s why I pushed for it."
The Streamlined Progression is also confirmed to be added to PlayStation 5 and PC versions of the game. It will be included in a future update once the Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S ports arrive.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam, while its Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are set to be released on January 22, 2026. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below.
