Itsuno Could Create A New Game if He Goes By His Gut Feeling

Capcom vs. SNK 2, Devil May Cry 2, and Dragon's Dogma Creator Hideaki Itsuno was recently interviewed by PC Gamer. When questioned about his desire to create new games and whether he yearns for creative freedom again, he expressed interest in the prospect of developing "something new."

However, he clarified that any decision to pursue such projects would be made after careful consideration of all relevant factors. While he refrained from making any immediate announcements, Itsuno stated that he would be inclined to follow his "gut feeling" if he were to disregard "all surrounding circumstances." Itsuno clarified that this was no announcement of a new game coming.

The interview continued with Itsuno reflecting on the past ten years, highlighting how it afforded him the opportunity to reassess his aspirations for Dragon’s Dogma 1 and its sequel. He noted that technological advancements now enable the team to focus more on AI, allowing them to "create a world of its own with people who live in it, monsters that live in it, and then have your character impact all these elements."

Itsuno expressed his vision for Dragon’s Dogma 2 to serve as a simulator, where players' actions profoundly impact the game world, and asserted his belief that they have now "gotten there."
