Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO has outlined its 2026 content roadmap, introducing new gameplay modes and a DLC. Read on for a breakdown of what’s coming.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO Content Roadmap Detailed
New Modes Added In Free Updates
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is set to receive free updates releasing "Mission 100" on January 26 and and "Survival Mode" this spring, alongside a new "massive" DLC this summer, as revealed by producer Jun Furutani during the recent Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri livestream.
Starting off the content roadmap is the addition of Mission 100, a solo mode featuring 100 preset battles with specific conditions for both the player’s team and their opponents. The mode was previously featured in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, so many of its missions will feel familiar to returning players.
Another free update planned for spring will introduce Survival Mode, though specific details have not yet been shared as of writing.
Major DLC Planned For Summer 2026

In addition to the free updates, a new major DLC is scheduled to launch this summer. The expansion adds new playable characters, costumes, and super attacks, with confirmed character additions including Super Android 17, King Piccolo, and Super Saiyan Bardock. New costumes such as Gohan’s childhood outfit and new super attacks for characters like Goku and Vegeta were also confirmed. The expansion will introduce new battle stages, starting with Roshi’s Island, and an additional new mode as part of the DLC.
Release timing for the free updates and DLC will vary by platform. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam are set to receive the content first when it launches this summer. Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 will follow a different release schedule. No additional information or specific dates have been announced.

Meanwhile, a different DLC included in the Season Pass is planned to roll out on Switch platforms across the winter and summer windows. Details on how this schedule aligns with the free updates and DLC have not been specified.
"A Deeper Dragon Ball Experience"

Since its launch in 2024, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO has received several post-release DLC packs as part of its ongoing support. With the newly announced expansion, the development team signaled a change in direction, noting that "until now, our DLCs have mainly focused on adding playable characters," and that the goal this time is to deliver content that offers a "deeper Dragon Ball experience."
