A full-on fighting game finds its way to Dota shores! Sleet Fighter (in line with the icy theme of the newest expansion and as a homage to a very well-known fighting game) is now playable on all Dota clients worldwide. Players can select one of the five chosen Dota 2 heroes—namely Marci, Tusk, Bristleback, Dawnbreaker, and Vengeful Spirit—to go head-to-head with other characters in a classic 2D fighting side-scroller. Interestingly, each character has their own set of skills and skins and is available to play online and locally both in single-player and in PvP.

This is part of the launch of the Crownfall Act 3: The Frosts Of Icewrack event, which also released a new overworld map located all the way up in the frigid north, collector’s cache items that feature 16 of the highest-rated sets by community vote, and an intro comic titled The Dragon. Even if you’re a newbie to Dota, you have lots of time to catch up as the event will be extended until October, "given how much the event has grown since we initially imagined it."

Fans have taken to social media to praise the addition of the unexpected fighting game, calling it dynamic and a breath of fresh air from the traditional gameplay. It has garnered enough attention to warrant some fans to ask Valve to put it in the game permanently. "It’s fun and [the] potential is great," said one Reddit user, with another quipping in that Valve should hold a Sleet Fighter tournament too.
