Destiny 2 players are in for a treat with the Into the Light update, packed with exciting new features ahead of the highly anticipated Final Shape expansion.
Destiny 2 Into the Light Available to Play Now!
Running from April 9, 2024 - June 3, 2024
Into the Light will introduce a range of new activities, weapons, and enhancements to the game. Players can look forward to engaging in a new wave defense PvE mode called Onslaught, the return of twelve iconic guns, a new social space, crucible maps, and more.
The new update is available to play for all players from April 9, 2024 - June 3, 2024. Here's a quick rundown of what to expect in Into the Light.
The Brave Arsenal
One of the most exciting features of Into the Light is the return of 12 iconic, fan-favorite weapons from Destiny's history, now collectively known as the Brave Arsenal. These weapons will rock special "Brave" skins and come with updated perk pools for enhanced functionality.
"The selection we ended up with is twelve iconic weapons remembered with a smile by many players. Many of these have random rolls for the very first time, while others have updated perk pools," Bungie wrote on the official website. "Our goal was to make them feel like they used to, and many retain their original stat packages, but others have been updated to achieve that feel in the current weapon sandbox."
Players can embark on quests to get these guns from Arcite in the Hall of Champions, with gradual releases leading up to the expansion's launch. The Brave Arsenal weapons will continue to drop from Onslaught after The Final Shape, but the limited-edition variants won’t be available any longer after June 3.

Onslaught PvE
In Onslaught mode, players must defend an Advanced Defense Unit (ADU) from relentless enemy assaults. The objective is to survive the onslaught and ultimately defeat the boss onboard a Pyramid ship. This mode offers thrilling cooperative gameplay in 3-player matchmaking activities.
Onslaught also highlights using turrets to turn the tides in players' favors. "We’ve had turrets in the game for a while, but rarely have they been on our side," designer Clayton Kisko said, "Having support with this much enemy density is exhilarating. It’s really rewarding when a turret that you or your teammates built has your back when you’re surrounded by enemies."
Hall of Champions
Into the Light introduces the Hall of Champions, a new social space where players can interact with the space's official vendors, Arcite 99-40 and Lord Shaxx. By earning reputation with them, players can unlock Superblack Keys to access exclusive rewards, including the legendary item modifier Superblack shader.
Crucible Maps, The Return of Two Classic Exotic Missions, and Pantheon
The update also brings three new Crucible PvP maps set on Europa, Neomuna, and a light-ravaged pyramid, arriving May 7, 2024. Additionally, fan-favorite Exotic missions, The Whisper and Zero Hour, make a return and will allow players to craft the Exotic rifles, Whisper of the Worm and Outbreak Perfected. The Whisper is now available to play, while Zero Hour will roll out on May 14.
Lastly, Into the Light brings Pantheon, an endgame PvE activity where players must conquer raid bosses in a relentless gauntlet. Pantheon promises exclusive rewards and challenging battles that will test the mettle of even the most seasoned Guardians.
