Chapter 5 Progressing Well
DELTARUNE Chapter 5’s development is "going excellently" according to creator Toby Fox. In his recent Winter 2025 newsletter, Fox shared updates on the progress of production for the upcoming chapter.
As teased in the ending credits of Chapter 4, DELTARUNE Chapter 5 is set to be released sometime in 2026. The newsletter noted that the team has currently begun the localization process for the game, and will proceed to test it with a professional testing team thereafter.
Fox also mentioned that they will begin considering how the game operates on consoles in January 2026. Furthermore, he estimated that Chapter 5 will launch in a couple of months, remaining tight-lipped on an exact release date.
Detailed Developments and Musical Tease
Aside from the overall progress of the upcoming chapter, Fox went deeper into its development. He said that all rooms in the game are "more or less done," with only some background polishing remaining to finish.
Furthermore, almost every scene in the chapter is done, leaving just a few that need a bit more visual polish. The majority of the battles are also finalized, with only some fine-tuning of pacing and bullet patterns remaining.
Additionally, Fox shared a preview of a soundtrack that will be added to the game, which will be used by most of the game’s shopkeepers. Ultimately, he promised that Chapter 5 will "contain hours of fun."
