Assassin’s Creed Shadows will now be available to play on Steam Deck at launch, after developers previously stated that it would not. Read to learn more about the possibility of the game getting Steam Deck Verified and its new cinematic TV ad.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows May Get Steam Deck Verified
Available to Play on Steam Deck at Launch
Assassin’s Creed Shadows (AC Shadows) will be available to play on Steam Deck on day one. Ubisoft announced on Twitter (X) on March 13 that AC Shadows will be supporting Steam Deck at launch and is currently waiting for the level of classification from Valve.
It was previously stated by Ubisoft in a Tech Q&A poster on their website on February 13 that AC Shadows will not be compatible with Steam Deck, as it is below the game’s minimum specs for PC. Other Assassin’s Creed games are marked on Steam Deck as Playable, not Verified, which means that AC Shadows would be the first AC game to get verified if Valve confirms its classification. Getting Steam Deck Verified means that the game is compatible with the device, giving players an overall, smooth experience and fully-functioning built-in controls and display.
New Cinematic TV Ad
Alongside the announcement that the game will be Steam Deck Verified, Ubisoft just dropped their new cinematic TV ad for AC Shadows. This comes a week before its release date, giving fans more things to get excited about. The trailer features cinematic scenes that highlight the game’s story, with the protagonists Naoe and Yasuke narrating their goals and journey ahead.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to be released on March 20, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. To stay up to date with the latest information on Assassin’s Creed Shadows, check out our article below!
