New Game+ "The Final Draft" to Feature New Story Content, Releasing on December 11
Creative Director Sam Lake and Game Director Kyle Rowley took to the stage at The Game Awards to accept their award for Best Game Direction. After finishing the game, players will be able to start New Game+, where they will keep all collected items and skills, from weapons, charms, and character upgrades from the initial playthrough. Alan Wake 2’s New Game+ will be on the Nightmare difficulty which will feature “intensified enemies, strategic gameplay, and an adrenaline-pumping experience that will push your skills to the limit.” (via Official Alan Wake Website)
Not only gameplay, but the narrative itself will contain new lore and a new ending. More videos and manuscript pages have been littered throughout, “along with other subtle additions.” The update will hit all platforms on December 11, 2023 at 10 a.m. PDT.
Alan Wake 2’s Creative Director Shares Heartfelt Acceptance Speech
Lake spoke for the majority of their allotted time, thanking everyone involved in the process of making Alan Wake 2, from Epic and to their own team at Remedy Entertainment.
“When more than a hundred people believe in the same vision and build something out of it, we can make miracles, we can make art, and we can be more than the sum of our parts. Our world today could use a bit more of that.”

Alan Wake 2 Dance Number
Alan Wake 2 didn’t just win a few awards in the program, as they held their own song performance and dance number. “Herald of Darkness,” a song from the game was performed live by Poets of the Fall. The live-action actor for Alan Wake took part in the dance number alongside Lake, the Creative Director himself.
The performance perfectly captured the campy ridiculousness that fans loved from the game, and perfectly entertained the audience with its antics.
