Marking the 7th anniversary of the game, No Man’s Sky announces an exciting huge update in Update 4.4 Echoes. The update introduces players to new characters, plot points, combat mechanics, and much more.
No Man’s Sky Echoes Update
New Robotic Race
Hello Games founder Sean Murray has shared that their aim with their latest update Echoes is to breathe new life into the No Man’s Sky universe with a new robotic race, the first race introduced since the game’s launch in 2016. They have also overhauled space combat, introducing freighter to freighter battles for the first time. Players will also now have to fend off the Pirate Dreadnoughts that cruise between the stars and terrorize merchant fleets.
Voyagers Expedition
Echoes Update also introduces Voyagers Expedition, where players can explore oceans, mountains, even planets, and come across alien creatures to record findings for unique rewards.
Holographic Museum
Players will get to chronicle their journey as the ability to store a catalog of discoveries is also being introduced. A new holographic museum allows players to decorate and display their discoveries in their base for others to visit and see.
Ceremonial Staff
In space, players can also embark on a cosmic scavenger hunt for their very own ceremonial staff, which can be leveled up using “an evolution of distinct technologies”. The ceremonial staff can be used as a tool for both interstellar mining and battle.
New Weapons and Tools and Tool Mechanics
Players can now also trade and scrap weapons, as well as seek them out throughout the galaxies. This introduces the chance for players to become Multi-tool scrap merchants. Moreover, players can now expand their arsenals by selecting from a wider selection of weapons and tools, including the iconic staff and an all-new powerful Atlas weapon.
