Waves 2, 3, and 4 of Fire Emblem Engage's Expansion Pass have been announced via Nintendo Direct. Read on to learn about the content of the DLC and if it's worth buying.
Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass
Wave 2 DLC - Available Feb. 8th, 2023

Wave 2 of the DLC for Fire Emblem Engage will include Hector, Emblem of Strength. This Emblem raises your defense and allows you to deal counterattacks. As for how much this Emblem will increase defense and how powerful the counterattacks will be relative to the enemy's incoming attack is yet to be seen.

Soren, Emblem of Acumen is an Emblem that will allow you to cast spells over a wide area. The wording in the Nintendo Direct is a bit vague here, but taking the wording at face value, this Emblem may have an AoE range to damage multiple targets.

Camilla, Emblem of Revelation allows you to modify the terrain to hinder enemies. It's unclear exactly how exactly this will work in terms of gameplay, however it likely will limit how far enemy units can move. Whether or not this terrain change affects ally units is yet to be seen.
Wave 3 DLC

Chrom and Robin, Emblem of Bonds combines Chrom and Robin's abilites for a flashy lightning infused sword slash. Whether or not this will deal bonus damage based on elemental properties is unknown at this time.

Veronica, Emblem of Heroes sounds particularly useful as she can summon additional allies into battle. Not only do you get the benefit of having another ally unit on the field, but you can also focus on leveling up more characters per battle.
Wave 4 DLC - Fell Xenologue

In Wave 4 of the Expansion DLC, we will be getting a new story called Fell Xenologue. This wave of the DLC looks particularly interesting as it introduces new characters and will likely have plenty of new missions with challenging battles. We'll have to see how Fell Xenologue expands the story when it becomes available.
How to Unlock New Emblems
Recruit Emblems By Clearing New Missions

To gain access to these Emblems, you will need to recruit them via the newly added missions accompanying the DLC. Rather than gaining these Emblems immediately, you will need to work for them a bit. That being said, the fun of going through the missions is its own reward in a way.
Is the Expansion DLC Worth Buying?
Recommended For Wave 4
The Expansion DLC so far features beloved characters of the series in the form of Emblems, which is great, but it might not be the main draw for players. Even though you need to recruit the new Emblems through new missions, paying to become OP might be seen negatively by some players.
Regardless of how you feel on that subject, wave 4 of the DLC features a new story section, so that is where the Expansion will likely payoff the most.
Generally we see the Expansion as worth the money, but it's more of a matter of when to buy it rather than if you should buy it.
