Update 4.0 Patch Notes

Champion Balance Changes

Several Champions will undergo the system balance chanage for the upcoming 4.0 Patch Update.

  • Camille
The changes on her abilities and kit will make her more approachable for new players that mains the Baron Lane. One example of these changes is her skill, Precision Protocol automatically empowers another basic attack, converting the bonus damage to true damage and bonus movement speed.

  • Corki
Corki's Phosphorus Bomb ability will now scale with his attack speed, decreasing the cast time for it.

  • KHA'ZIX
His ability, Taste Their Fear single target damage will be reduced to balance it out with the other junglers. There will also be a cooldown reduction for it, ranging to 45% → 30%.

  • Kai’Sa
Kaisa doesn't do well on her ADC role position, unlike the other Dragon Lane Champions so she will be given a handful of buffs on the new patch! Her Base Attack Damage will increase and her skill, Void Seeker now scales with her attack speed.

  • Lillia
Due to being overtuned, Lillia's scaling health will be lowered to emphasize her late game positioning, and the damage from her skill, Blooming Blows will be nerfed to take her jungle power down a notch and balance her gameplay.

With these new balance changes among champions, we can speculate that the list of meta champions will definitely change for this year as some of the favorite picks are either buffed or nerfed.

New and Reworked Items

  • Dawnshroud
The Dawnshroud item provides area of effect damage and reveals an enemy champion whether you’re immobilizing them, or tanking an immobilize effect for your team.

  • Randuin's Omen
Tanks will fight better against critical damage if they're armed with the new Randuin’s Omen. Use it for an offensive style and heal back. When you attack a champion, consume your passive, Determination to heal for the amount consumed.

Tank Mains are given good durability updates with the new item updates. However, it is still a bit lacking when it comes to Magic Resist Items against mages. Hopefully, this will be fixed on later patches.

New Champions

Image
Patch 4.0 will introduce two New Champions to Wild Rift that will launch separately. Zoe will be released during the base patch while Zeri will be in the same patch but released a month later.

Zoe, The Aspect of Twilight

Official Release Date January 12 - 00:01 UTC

Get ready for some glitter, cheer, and mischief as Zoe is a burst mage that can steal spells, make portals and snipe enemies with her abilities! Create chaos with her on the Mid Lane or the Support role.

Zoe proved to be a fan favorite on the League of Legends PC for her devastating combo attacks paired with long-duration stuns. It won't be a suprise if Riot Games decides to adjust the champion to fit the pacing of the mobile game.

A demo of Zoe's Gameplay has been already shown on the preview! Here's a quick summary of her abilites:

  • Passive - More Sparkles: After casting a spell, Zoe's next basic attack will deal bonus magic damage.
  • First Ability - Paddle Star!: Throws a missile that can be redirected in flight. The farther it travels, the more damage it will deal.
  • Second Ability - Spell Thief: Steal the enemies spells and Enchantments. These will appear on the ground and can also be dropped when your team last hits a minion that's holding a balloon.
  • Third Ability - Sleepy Trouble Bubble: Zoe will launch a bubble at a target that causes them to fall asleep shortly.
  • Ultimate - Portal Jump: Zoe will be able to teleport to a new position and then blink back.

Zeri, The Spark of Zaun

Official Release Date February 24 - 00:01 UTC

A marksman champion who is capable of dealing burst damage and staying agile on the battlefield. Zeri channels her electric magic to charge herself and her custom-crafted gun. Use her at the Dragon lane to swiftly take down your enemies!

Since the champion hasn’t been officially released yet in-game, the ability descriptions are created on speculation of pre-existing League of Legends information. Here are the speculated abilities Zeri may possess:

  • Passive - Living Battery: Zeri will gain movement speed whenever receiving a shield.
  • First Ability - Burst Fire: Moving and casting Burst Fire stores up energy in Zeri's Sparkpack. When fully charged her next Attack will slow the enemy and deal bonus damage.
  • Second Ability - Ultrashock Laser: Fires a beam that damages and slows down the first target it hits.
  • Third Ability - Spark Surge: Zeri dashes forward over a short distance and empower her next three attacks.
  • Ultimate - Lightning Crash: Shocks nearby enemies with electrical energy and gain stacks for each champion hit. While she's overcharged, Zeri's movement and attacks will be faster.
