Pocket Pair Announces Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse for Consoles and PC
The Hat is Cursed, Too
Frontside 180 Studio, a newly-formed team under Pocket Pair (Craftopia, Overdungeon), recently announced the creation of Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse's Steam Store page.
Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse is a 2D, side-scrolling game of the Metroidvania and roguelike genre. Venture through procedurally-generated dungeons and defeat enemies with the assistance of your cursed hat, which could possess enemies and allow the player to control them. This opens up a myriad of strategies for the player to use to beat the level. There will also be crafting, base building and management, and even multiplayer support for up to four players.
Here are some of the game's features as detailed in their announcement:
Full-Fledged 2D Action!
Recognize enemy attacks, use magic, and sometimes use the terrain to win the battle! Dungeons such as ruins and gardens are procedurally-generated and change each time you play. Additionally, puzzles and obstacles are waiting to block the player's progression.
Possession System
Possess enemies using a cursed hat. Use the special abilities of possessed enemies to open the way and take advantage of the battle!
Base of Operations
Use materials collected in dungeons to clear away the rubble of ruined villages, build new facilities, and cultivate crops in the fields. Use the food and potions produced in the village for the next battle!
Multiplayer
Multiplayer support for up to 4 players. Call your friends from other worlds and conquer dungeons together!
