PixelOpus To Shut Down In June
Sony Decideds to Close PixelOpus

PixelOpus, a game development studio owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment, has recently announced its shutdown. Known for their work on the critically acclaimed game Concrete Genie, PixelOpus was established in 2014 as an in-house studio for Sony to make PlayStation-exclusive titles. Despite being a small team of only 20 members, they have developed titles for PS3, PS4, and PS Vita.
Per Sony's routine portfolio review procedure, PixelOpus will formally shut down on June 2, 2023. Sony assesses each studio project to determine whether it aligns with its short- and long-term strategic goals.
PixelOpus Grateful for Fans and Team

In response to the news, PixelOpus expressed gratitude towards the passionate players who supported them and added that their adventure had ended.
The studio's closure was also confirmed by senior environment artist Bob Archibald, who thanked the team for building imaginative worlds and making the world an ever-so-slightly better place.
PixelOpus was apparently working on an untitled project in conjunction with Sony Pictures Animation, which abrupt closure has disappointed and upset fans of the studio's work. However, they hope the outstanding team members will discover new chances to continue producing unforgettable gaming experiences.
