Assassin's Creed Odyssey Partnership with Ashmolean Museum
The iconic video game Assassin's Creed Odyssey has teamed up with The Ashmolean Museum, one of the oldest museums in the world, to revitalize and reimagine ancient Greece.
In addition to showcasing the potential of video games as a tool for education and cultural heritage, this innovative cooperation investigates the historical accuracy and aesthetic interpretation of ancient Greece as shown in the game.
Labyrinth: Knossos, Myth & Reality Exhibit
More than 100 items in the exhibition The Labyrinth: Knossos, Myth & Reality have never been displayed outside of Greece.
Scenes from Assassin's Creed Odyssey will be projected in an immersive exhibition area, showcasing Ubisoft's interpretation of the palace at Knossos. Developers and historians will share behind-the-scenes information about how Ubisoft Quebec created the in-game environment using historical data and Sir Arthur Evan's archive.
According to Romain Fasciale, Project Manager for Ubisoft's strategic alliances, the company is in touch with numerous museums worldwide to use the game's content to support culture and education.
This is not the first time that Assassin's Creed Odyssey partnered with an educational institution. They once collaborated on an Alexander the Great display with the British Library. The goal of fusing history, culture, and education into games by being as highly accurate as possible is to increase the future generation's understanding of history.
