The Elder Scrolls: Castles
Fallout Shelter, But Elder Scrolls
Bethesda Studios has quietly released a new Elder Scrolls game, but it is not what you think. Introducing Elder Scrolls: Castles, a castle management simulator currently in early access on the Google Play store. The game is all about controlling your castle, overseeing your subjects, and improving various rooms and areas of your fortress. If you enjoyed Fallout: Shelter, then this is the game for you.
Ruling your Own Kingdom
In The Elder Scrolls: Castles, each real-time day is an in-game year. As the ruler, your task is to nurture your kingdom through generations: train your subjects, choose heirs, and maintain order. Not only that, you are also responsible for the well-being of your domain by providing food, resources, and workstations.
Like Fallout: Shelter, you can also send your subjects into the world and on epic quests. Equip them with legendary gear, see them triumph over formidable foes, and loot to your heart’s content.
Bethesda’s Mobile Game Track Record
Bethesda has a smaller repertoire of mobile games compared to their PC and console releases. Still, the three mobile games that they’ve released are well reviewed by gamers globally. In the Google Play store, Mighty DOOM is currently at 4.6/5.0, Fallout Shelter is at 4.5, and The Elder Scrolls: Blades is at 4.1. The main concerns usually relate to the often frowned-upon microtransactions in these types of free-to-play games.
In The Elder Scrolls: Castles, the shop items are not yet available for purchase, and so we have yet to see how this would affect the game’s progress.
