⚫︎ Hytale has finally pinned down a release date after 11 years of development and delays.
Hytale Overview
Hytale is an open-world sandbox RPG inspired by the best-selling video game of all time and pioneer of its genre, Minecraft. Similar to its predecessor, Hytale encourages immense levels of creativity and freedom in its gameplay, allowing players to explore what it has to offer through game modes that cater to different playstyles.
Hytale is created by Hypixel Studios, which initially started out as a YouTube channel that went on to create a mega popular Minecraft server that went by the name of Hypixel. The team was later taken in by Riot Games, creators of League of Legends. Following a split in November 2025, Hypixel Studios then went on to finish development for the highly-anticipated Hytale, which would see its first early access release on January 13, 2026, 11 years after it was first unveiled.

Hytale Gameplay
Hytale possesses all of the familiar characteristics of sandbox gameplay such as open-world exploration and emphasis on player freedom and experimentation, set within the framework of survival RPGs. In Hytale, players will have the freedom to explore different biomes while encountering and interacting with hundreds if not thousands of elements in their environment. They will be able to exercise their abilities as explorers, fighters, and creatives through the four game modes on offer: Adventure Mode, Exploration Mode, Creative Mode, and Competitive Multiplayer.
