⚫︎ NetEase Games has announced Blood Message, a story-driven, single-player action adventure game in development for consoles and PC.
Blood Message Overview
Blood Message is an upcoming linear story-driven third-person action-adventure from new development studio 24 Entertainment Lin’an. Set in ancient China during the final years of the Tang Dynasty, players take on the role of a nameless messenger and father, with his young son and unlikely allies, caught in the midst of an uprising in the city of Dunhuang. This is a tale about ordinary citizens of the state, the unsung heroes of a war-torn era, fueled by an extraordinary resolve that surpasses even them.
The game will feature an approximate of 1000 miles of land to explore as the protagonist travels eastward, from desolate and unforgiving landscapes to expansive ancient Chinese cities and settlements. Combat-wise, it aims to present brutal and realistic combat, blending stealth and survival mechanics into its mix.
Blood Message will be released on PC and consoles, with the specific consoles yet to be identified. This will be NetEase Games’ "first completely single-player focused experience" and they are preparing to "deliver a truly epic and cinematic experience for players around the world."

Blood Message Gameplay
Blood Message will feature deeply narrative-driven gameplay mechanics along with compelling, cinematic storytelling. With a wide map inspired by the terrains of the localities of East and Central Asia, players are treated to a world that resembles the real world of ancient China during the last legs of the Tang Dynasty.
Combat-wise, it is projected to have brutal, realistic combat with stealth and survival game elements, all played in a third-person perspective.
