Beast of Reincarnation Overview
Beast of Reincarnation is an upcoming action-RPG developed by Game Freak, best known for its work on the Pokémon series. Officially unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025 , the game is scheduled for release in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. As Game Freak’s first original IP outside of Pokémon since its debut in the 1990s, Beast of Reincarnation is the said studio’s first major foray into a more mature action RPG.
In the far-off future, year 4026, Earth is approaching extinction. As Emma the Sealer—an outcast cursed as a Blighted One—accompanied by her dog Koo, players must navigate a world teeming with massive beasts and mechanized foes. Central to it all is the bond between Emma and Koo, which grants them powers designed to combat the escalating threat of extinction.

Beast of Reincarnation Gameplay
Beast of Reincarnation centers its gameplay on action-oriented, technical combat. Players engage in melee battles against a variety of enemies including large beasts and robotic foes. Like other Soulslike games, combat is said to reward timing and pattern recognition, with opportunities for parries, dodges, and counterattacks.
Key to the gameplay is Emma and Koo’s companionship. As their bond strengthens, Emma gains new abilities. Though not much is known beyond it, this partnership could suggest a combat system where the player character and her companion work in tandem for synergistic moves.
