Gran Saga’s tale is set on the mystical lands of Ethprozen, a land blessed by the goddess’ protection where many races live in peace. However, the Black Dragon appeared to challenge the long period of order that the world enjoyed. It beckoned a dark army to shake the foundations of the land and torment its citizens.

To defeat the Black Dragon, 12 knights from the 12 kingdoms were gathered to stand against the former’s might.

Gran Saga Global Gameplay

Gran Saga is an open-world MMO developed by NPixel, the same studio behind the upcoming Chrono Odyssey MMO. It was initially released in Korea and later in Japan, but a Global version has been confirmed, at least through writing, since early 2023. It also has a Global version website that can be viewed.

Gameplay-wise, it resembles titles such as Final Fantasy XIV, Soul Workers, etc., but with a highly stylized anime aesthetic. But unlike Soul Workers, Gran Saga relies heavily on gacha to obtain characters, equipment, etc. In a way, it’s similar to Tower of Fantasy in that regard.

However, the combat in Gran Saga has a much more balanced pace, perhaps due to its large amount of animation and flair. On the other hand, raiding with multiple players allows the game to step on the gas. And, since players can use the surrounding terrain to their advantage, battles can quickly grow in scale.
