Street Fighter 6 will be released on June 2, 2023. Learn about the final color commentator Hikaru Takahashi and new game modes like: World Tour and Battle Hub.

Street Fighter 6 Color Commentator: Hikaru Takahashi

Street Fighter 6 has a Real-Time Commentary Feature that allows players to experience in-game commentary from popular fighting game community commentators, much like in real tournaments.

Japanese Actress, Hikaru Takahashi has recently been added as the final commentator for this feature, and she definitely gives a very high energy performance. If you're concerned that you don't speak Japanese, well don't worry, subtitles for real-time commentary will be supported in 13 languages. Who knows, you might even pick up some fighting game-based Japanese (super useful, I know).

The other Color Commentators include Jeremy Vicious Lopez, Aru, James Chen, Tasty Steve, Kosuke Hiraiwa, Thea Trinidad and H.E.Demon Kakka.

This feature helps give you the feeling of actually being in the center of an arena in a heated match while the commentator rallies the crowd into a frenzy. It may seem like a small feature, but it definitely adds to the hype, and we here at Game8 can appreciate that.

Street Fighter 6: New Game Modes

World Tour and Battle Hub

One of the exciting new features of Street Fighter 6 is the World Tour mode, an immersive single-player story mode that will allow players to experience the game's narrative on a deeper level. This mode promises a more engaging and meaningful storyline that explores the characters' backgrounds and motivations. This is a much appreciated mode since most fighting games tend to die after the online community around the game moves on to the next game in the series. Hopefully World Tour Mode will give Street Fighter 6 it's own identity and will give a reason to come back to the game even after Street Fighter 7 gets released.

Another new addition is the Battle Hub, an online social space designed to feel like classic arcades where players can connect with others and engage in various activities, such as challenging opponents, sharing content, and participating in community events. This feature aims to provide players a more inclusive and interactive experience and foster a sense of community within the game.

Of course, the game's core is still the pinnacle of genre-defining battles for which the series is known. With enhanced graphics, mechanics, and a vast roster of characters, Street Fighter 6 promises to deliver the same intense and competitive fighting experience the fans anticipate from the game.

Street Fighter 6 launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on June 2, 2023.
