The Game’s First Music Collaboration
In a surprising move, Blizzard announced Overwatch 2’s first music collaboration with popular K-pop group LE SSERAFIM. Overwatch 2’s General Manager, Walter Kong, expressed his elation saying, "We’re extremely excited to be with LE SSERAFIM for our game… Like the heroes of Overwatch, the LE SSERAFIM members are amazing as individuals, but unstoppable when they come together."
The collaboration is already picking up steam as fans expressed their overwhelming excitement over the announcements posted in Twitter and Instagram. So far, the collab will have a music video, as well as in-game events and skins. LE SSERAFIM will also be making a BlizzCon appearance.
New Music Video and BlizzCon Appearance
The LE SSERAFIM side of the collaboration will have an upcoming music video for their single, "Perfect Night" featuring Overwatch 2. This will premiere on October 26, with a teaser already garnering 500,000 views as of this writing.
The popular K-pop group will also appear in the upcoming BlizzCon on November 4 in Anaheim, California. They are set to perform “Perfect Night” in the BlizzCon Arena after the Community Night event.
New Custom Game Mode and Hero Skins
It wouldn’t be an Overwatch 2 collaboration without exclusive skins and a new game mode. The game will feature an exclusive in-game event on November 1. Other than this date, no other details are available yet. But an update is expected to come out on October 30.
The collab follows several controversies that have hounded Overwatch 2, from the scrapped PvE Hero Mode to the expensive skins. If all goes well for this collab, this may yet to be the perfect turning point for Overwatch 2.
