Despite numerous playthroughs, players are still discovering obscured areas and hidden caves in the Lands Between. In a recent thread on the Elden Ring subreddit, players shared their discoveries, even after spending hundreds or thousands of hours into the game.

One player shared stumbling upon the Highroad Cave in the region of Limgrave during their 400th hour playing as their sixth character, sparking discussion among other players who were unaware of its existence. It can be located at the northmost part of Limgrave and houses wolves, giant bats, and land octopuses.

"Initially I thought that Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula, and Caelid were the entire map, and that Dragonbarrow was the endgame area," another person wrote, "Cue my total shock and losing my s*it when I got to Liurnia and discovered that the map I thought was almost complete, just keeps panning upward."

Someone even mentioned that after 1,000 hours of playing, they had no idea that the cave exists. Another player shared that they thought they've seen everything, but soon discovered The War-Dead Catacombs, a dungeon located in East Caelid, after defeating Radahn. "There’s literally nothing out there until you enter the catacombs," the player commented, "It’s also a trip when you first enter, it’s undead chaos of the highest degree."

As anticipation builds for the release of the Elden Ring DLC, players both new and old seem to be returning to the game to prepare for the upcoming expansion. With the promise of challenging expansions characteristic of Souls games, it's more reason to dive back in, explore, and farm and brace for the arrival of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
