Baldur’s Gate 3 Director New Project
Act 1 of The Project is in Development
Swen Vincke, director of the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3, recently shared on his personal Twitter(X) account that he "finally figured out what act 1" of his upcoming project "needs to be." He states that "This type of work can be really frustrating when you're stuck but the important bit is to never give up and remain self-critical, even if the situation looks hopeless."
"I haven't shared it with anyone yet so it may be they all think it's bad and then I'll just kill this thread, go sit in a corner with my dog and pretend none of this happened. And press CTRL+ENTER and start all over again" says Vincke, but he reassures fans that "I really like this one."
Although Vincke has not announced what game this will be, he mentions one lesson he’s learned throughout the years is that "work done on abandoned drafts is never wasted" and "you can recycle your work once you find the right story for it."
He ends the thread by stating that this project "is not what you think" and is not a teaser to an announcement. "It'll be quite some time before we talk about this," says Vincke.
The project was announced last December during The Game Awards with Vincke stating "I wish I could tell you about our next big game, but this is really encouraging us to ensure it pushes many boundaries. I’m very excited about it."
Speculations on The New Project
Although Vincke has not announced the project he’s working on, some fans on Twitter(X) have started speculating. They theorize that Vincke might be working on a possible sequel to Divinity Original Sin, a game series that Larian Studios produced and Vincke directed. Stay tuned for more updates on this soon.
