Avowed Gameplay
Avowed is a first-person RPG where players will play as an adventure with skillful mastery over weaponry and magical spells. They will be able to wield their physical armaments on one hand, such as swords, shields, and guns, while having the option and freedom to utilize their other hands to cast spells. Players will go on grand non-linear adventure, resulting in each gamer's playthrough to never be the same. Even how the quests themselves can be initiated different from which conditions were met. allowing for varied gameplay experiences.
Spells range from mainly damaging, impairing the enemy to stop them in their tracks allowing for easier strikes, or support for oneself. Foes everywhere will be no match for them, as they can be decimated by a huge fireball, be frozen in place, entangled into the ground by roots, shocked by harnessed electricity, or be lifted by a gravitational orb.
Avowed Story
Set in the world of Eora, the same world as Obsidian Studio’s Pillars of Eternity franchise, Avowed follows the protagonist controlled by the playerm, an envoy of Aedyr. They have been tasked by the Emperor to investigate a plague known as the Dream Scourge that has been spreading throughout the Living Lands. Players must now venture forth across the world of Eora to discover ways to fight back against the illness, as well as find out the deeper, darker truth – a long-forgotten secret along with the land itself threatening to tear the world apart.
Throughout their journey, they will be met with commoners and inhabitants who will provide them with help and quests. However, having seen the envoy's powers, they grow fearful of the players' powers for the envoy alone can wield them, leaving the commonfolk defenseless if come the time the protagonists wish to harm them. However, some select few will come to their aid and become companions in their selfless quest against the Dream Scourge. They must all work together to save the land they all live upon.
